Ash wednesday. What does it signify?

Ash wednesday marks the first day of lent. Its a day marked with fasting, prayer and repentance.

 On this day, ash is placed on the forehead of believers to remind us that we are made from dust and dust we shall return to and also to remind us that we are mortal, sinful and in need of repentance.

When jonah brought the message of Gods proposed wrath to the people of nineveh, the people of nineveh sorth Gods forgiveness by praying, fasting, putting on sack clothes and pouring ash on their body. Gods response to their remorse was total forgiveness and withdrawal of the punishment prepared for them. Hence us christians have to make sure that this ash, even when is physically gone, should spiritually remain on our foreheads to constantly remind us of our nothingness before God, boost our humility and get us closer to God. Happy Ash wednesday.

Ajax dumps madrid out of champions league

Ajax fc of Amsterdam came into the second leg of champions league round of 16 in electric form, destroying champions league giants, real madrid, in a 4-1(5-3agg) romp that saw the champions crash out of the competition.
Real madrid was without their captain sergio ramos who deliberately acquired a yellow card in the first leg in other to be present at the quater final. Talk about the heights of foolishness.

Dusan fadic was in superb form for the dutch club, creating two assists and scoring a wonderful goal. He was a menace to casemiro,skillfully spining the real madrid midfielder in the build up to the second goal.

The reason behind this ban being that Ajimobi lost his oyo south senatorial bid to Dr. Kola balogun(PDP) and also lost three federal consituency seats out of five to PDP candidates all in his oyo south.

it has come to our notice that scammers armed with charms, guns and other dangerous weapons are gradually using thinkers' corner enugu as their operation site. 

Just last two weeks a student of the institute of ecumenical  education (IECE) that "jejely" entered keke to her hostel after a tough day at school was asked at gun point to remove and submit her panties... Luckily for her, she wasnt putting on any( babes don wise finish nah). Another case happened just last saturday where a young lady(names withheld), just fresh from service, on her way out met with some stangers who pretended to ask her for directions, charmed/jazzed her into giving them her ATM card and pin, her phones, laptop, 8000naira and other accessories. They even drove her upandan enugu before dropping her off and clearing her eyes. So, all ye thinkers' corner residents and everybody reading this, beware ooo.
